Nice to meet you
About Me
I'm Mark, the counsellor behind Park Bench Counselling.
I created Park Bench Counselling with the belief that support should feel approachable, genuine and accessible. I know that reaching out for help can feel daunting, so I aim to create an environment where people feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are.

How I work
What makes Park Bench Counselling different is the flexibility and person-centred approach I offer. Alongside traditional counselling sessions in my office in Wannanup, I also provide walk and talk counselling sessions in the Mandurah area, home visits and online support, allowing counselling to feel more natural and accessible for those who may not connect with a traditional clinical setting.
I also welcome NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan managed to provide supportive counselling services tailored to individual goals.
My Approach
I believe counselling should feel human, comfortable and collaborative. There is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy which is why I tailor sessions to each individual and their unique experiences, needs and goals.
My approach is warm, compassionate and practical, creating a space where clients feel safe to explore emotions, build self-awareness and develop healthier ways of coping and connecting.
I understand that opening up can feel difficult, especially for those who have spent a long time carrying things on their own. Whether we meet in my counselling space, outdoors through walk and talk therapy or in your home, my focus is on helping you feel supported in a way that feels right for you.
I work with a range of concerns including:
-
Anxiety and stress
-
Relationship challenges
-
Emotional regulation
-
Self-esteem and identity
-
Grief and loss
-
Trauma
-
Life transitions
-
Teen mental health
